SATWAY VYOM is IRNSS-GNSS vehicle tracking device / hardware / unit Approved by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) AIS140 (Automotive Industrial Standard 140) with IRNSS/GNSS and GSM/GPRS antennas embedded within the enclosure thereby ensuring tamper-proof operation. SATWAY VYOM consists of a multi-band GSM/GPRS modem for data communication. It supports multiple Digital Inputs, Digital Outputs and Analog Inputs which enables SATWAY VYOM to integrate/interface Sensors/ Accessories like RFID, Fuel Sensors, Temp Sensors, TPMS Sensors, Relay, Accelerometer, LCD Display, Keypad, Buzzer etc. It supports protocol for Commercial and passenger vehicles. The power supply range 8V to 32V and provides protection against surges, short circuit and reverse battery connection. Battery backup is available for stand-alone operation. IP protocols for the communication with the server. SATWAY VYOM has on-board backup memory to store data packets in areas with no network coverage
The hardware system ensures uninterrupted transmission of instantaneous details from the GNSS downlink and other vehicle parameters connected to the various input channel of the device. The data traffic of the device is limited to a standard frequency and transmission occurs at the most reliable 2G spectrum. This document covers the basic instruction for handling and installation the device.

As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH), all passenger transport vehicles to be mandatorily equipped with AIS 140 standard GPS devices.
This would force following sectors/industries to adopt the standard immediately.
